The Nihilist Cipher

EverCrack Home

The Nihilist Cipher is a multiliteral, polyalphabetic

substitution cipher. A table similar to the Polybius Square Cipher is

used in the Nihilist Cipher. The first step of encryption is nearly exact -

you get the coordinates for each of the letters of the clear message:

Using a key, you encipher the alphabet by locating the plain letter to encypt

in the top column, then finding the row that begins with the key word letter,

then using the intersection of the two to locate the cipher letter.
